A woman was shot in Minneapolis early Sunday morning when she complained to a group who were making noise outside her home.

The incident was reported at around 3:10 a.m. on the 3300 block of Russell Ave. N., with the woman hospitalized at North Memorial Medical Center with a non-life-threatening wound.

"Preliminary information indicates there was a group outside of a residence making noise," Minneapolis police said.

"When the occupants of the residence went to speak with the group, a male in the group produced a handgun and fired shots, striking the woman. The group fled the scene before officers arrived."

No arrests have been made as of Sunday afternoon. The investigation continues.
