MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Madison Police Department issued 22 citations after an unpermitted car meet-up took place at Olbrich Park Saturday evening.

Around 7:00 p.m., MPD responded to the 3500 block of Atwood Avenue after they received multiple complaints involving a car meet-up at Olbrich Park. Complaints said around 125-150 vehicles were involved in excessive noise and hazardous driving.

MPD says that for three hours, the Central District Community Policing Team conducted traffic enforcement. Several motorcyclists eluded attempted police stops, according to MPD.

22 citations were issued after multiple traffic stops and a trespass enforcement operation was conducted.

Citations issued included trespassing on posted private property, hazardous traffic violations and noise violations.
