MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - UW–Madison has eliminated a decades-old tutoring program, a move that some campus staff say will leave students without critical academic support.
The Academic Coaching to Thrive and Succeed (ACTS) program had operated for about 30 years, providing personalized tutoring to hundreds of students each year. University officials said the program was launched at a time when UW did not have an extensive learning support network, but that resources have expanded significantly in recent years.
