LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- The Little League World Series is complete, and while Summerlin South came up short in the World Championship, the team still has plenty to celebrate.
Summerlin South represents the state of Nevada and the Mountain Region after the team made its way through local and regional tournaments before heading to Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
The local players made their presence felt in the first round of the Little League World Series on Aug. 13 when they defeated the team from Clarendon Hills, Illinois, which represented the Great Lakes Region by a final score of 16-1.
Next came a 5-3 victory over Bonney Lake, Washington, which represented the Northwest Region, followed by a 1-0 win against Irmo, South Carolina, which represented the Southeast Region.
