Councilman Jeff Davis of District 3 hosted a community town hall Sunday to discuss and receive feedback about the City of Chattanooga's recent budget amendment proposals.

Councilman Davis and District 1 Councilman Chip Henderson recently sponsored an alternative proposal to Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly 's "1.93 compromise" on property tax rates.

The public hearing started at 3:30pm on Tuesday, August 19.

The mayor's compromise entailed a rate of $1.93 per $100 of assessed property value, a slight decrease from the $1.99 rate he suggested at the end of July.
