One person is dead and multiple others hospitalized after a driver fleeing from authorities caused a crash in Gordon County, according to the sheriff's office.
Just before 3:00pm on Saturday, a sheriff's deputy was on I-75 near the Exit 317 entrance ramp when a Mercedes nearly struck his patrol car.
The deputy followed the driver as they drove "erratically" making fast lane changes to Exit 312 (Fairmount Highway), according to GCSO.
When the deputy attempted to stop the driver in a pursuit, they sped away at over 100 miles per hour.
