The National Weather Service issued a report at 5:07 p.m. on Sunday for strong thunderstorms until 5:45 p.m. for St. Lawrence and Franklin counties.
Anticipate marble-sized hail (0.5 inches) and wind gusts of up to 40 mph.
"At 5:07 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm over Pierrepont, moving northeast at 25 mph," says the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible."
Locations impacted by the alert include Potsdam Village, Brasher, Pierrepont, Parishville, Lawrence, Stockholm, Dickinson, Potsdam, Moira, Norfolk, Canton, Hopkinton, Clare, Russell, Colton, North Stockholm, West Parishville, Brasher Center, West Stockholm and Nicholville.
