RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Members of the Traylor Estates community put on their walking shoes Saturday morning. August 24, on a mission.

Neighbors walked around the area with Richmond City Councilor Sarah Abubaker.

“It’s really huge right to get someone on the level of city council to come out and have a direct interest in hearing our concerns and possibly being able to leverage some of her interactions with the city to get things addresses more quickly,” Blaine Atkisson, a neighbor in Traylor Estates, said.

During the walk, the group outlined what infrastructure issues the area is facing, such as poor storm drainage in some spots and speeding near schools.

Abubaker told the neighbors, she can put these concerns in the city’s 311 pipeline if it’s something small. For big things, she said
