The Vietnamese government will evacuate at least half a million people due to the imminent arrival of Typhoon Kajiki this Monday, which has been strengthening as it passes through China.

The Vietnamese Meteorological Agency has raised the risk of a natural disaster to level 4 on a scale of 5 in the central city of Thanh Hoa, predicting heavy rains would begin Sunday night.

Major storms are also expected to hit cities such as the capital, Hanoi, between Monday and Tuesday.

Authorities are planning to evacuate 586.770 people from 152.387 homes due to this typhoon, which is forecast to bring strong winds and torrential downpours to the southernmost regions of China, where it is currently stationed.
