WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) -- A man operating a scooter has been seriously injured in a possible hit-and-run crash Sunday afternoon in Williamsburg.

Virginia State Police say the incident happened around 2:15 p.m. on Page Street.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a 40-year-old scooter operator was possibly struck by a vehicle that left the scene. He was then flown out to VCU Hospital in Richmond for treatment of his injuries.

The Virginia State Police Crash Reconstruction Team is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
