Derry Township police issued a warrant for a man they say stabbed two people early Sunday morning.

Police say Edward Lee McDowell, 28, of York, entered a residence in the 600 block of Old West Chocolate Avenue, where two people were asleep. McDowell entered the bedroom and began stabbing a 43-year-old man.

A 29-year-old woman awoke and tried to jump in between the two and was stabbed in the hand.

Police said McDowell told the woman he was going to kill the man. He then fled the residence before police arrived around 3:15 a.m. He was charged with burglary, aggravated assault and terroristic threats.
