More than 600 couples participated in the first "Joropódromo Coromotano" dance in Portuguesa, in honor of the patron saint of Venezuela, outside the Minor Basilica of the National Shrine of the Virgin of Coromoto, in the state of Portuguesa.

Dancers of all ages from Yaracuy, Lara, Barinas, and the 14 municipalities of Portuguesa came to the temple. They belonged to joropo schools and dance groups. This year, they came together to celebrate and honor the Virgin of the Llaneros, right on the spot where she appeared on September 8, 1652.

Wearing espadrilles and traditional plains costumes, the dancers paid homage to the Marian devotion, combining talent, faith, and tradition in a cultural display that thrilled the area surrounding the Sanctuary, built in honor of the Virgin of Coromoto and
