Debris Fire Engulfs Big Rig Parked in Residential Van Nuys Neighborhood

A debris fire spread to a big rig parked on a log in a Van Nuys neighborhood Sunday, but firefighters were able to save a garage and nearby homes.

The fire was reported at 3:40 p.m. Saturday at 7316 N. Gloria Ave., north of Sherman Way, according to the Los Angeles fire Department’s Brian Humphrey.

It took 38 firefighters 20 minutes to put out the fire, Humphrey said.

It was not known what cargo was inside the trailer, he said.

No injuries were reported, he said.
