IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - The Hawkeyes took down the Broncos, 2-0 on Sunday in women’s soccer.

Josie Jones and Shae Doherty each scored a goal for the Hawks. For them, the relief was on defense, after letting up five goals combined in the previous two games.

“They wanted to get the ball forward. We knew we had to sit back and be ready to win those. We focused defensively on that and we knew our offense would speak for itself,” said Jones.

Thursday night’s loss vs. No. 7 TCU came with a regular season attendance record for the program at 2,382. Sunday followed with 1,934 people. Head coach Dave DiIanni is thrilled with where the program is at.
