IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Iowa Volleyball is coming into the 2025 season with four transfers and five freshmen. Their head coach, Jim Barnes, believes this is the season to take the next step.

“This is the year that you see this program make a major step. This one will be the catalyst for all the seasons that are going to come, because I think this team’s going to win,” said Barnes.

The Hawkeyes improved in 2024 in the Big 10, going from zero wins in 2023 to four wins. The present members in the conference account for 13 of the last 20 National Champions.

“The Big 10 is a whole different beast. You can only get used to it by being in it,” said senior setter, Claire Ammeraal.
