CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - The Iowa State Cyclones picked up a huge conference win before the rest of the Big 12 even kicked off.
The Rocco Becht-led Cyclones outdueled Kansas State in a ‘week zero’ contest in Dublin, Ireland 24-21.
Up by three, a fourth down completion from Becht to Carson Hansen sealed the win for the Cyclones.
Becht finished with 183 yards passing on 14-of-28 through the air with two passing touchdowns. On the ground, Becht had 18 yards, adding a rushing touchdown.
Dominic Overby and Brett Eskildsen caught the two TD passes for ISU.
Iowa State starts the season 1-0 heading into a week one matchup against South Dakota. That game is set for 2:30 PM.
