A body was found on a hiking trail in Provincetown, Massachusetts, on Sunday morning as part of an ongoing missing person search, officials say.

According to state police, they deployed a helicopter at the request of local police to assist with the ongoing search, and their air wing located the body in the area of Hatches Harbor Trail.

Personnel on the ground responded to the location, and detectives were notified of the discovery, police added.

The Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office has released little information other than to confirm a body was discovered, and that a preliminary investigation has not identified anything suspicious.
