LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Preparing for the hunting season ahead, Sportsmen For the Hungry held its “Clean Out the Freezer and Pantry Day” event Sunday.
Several vehicles rolled in with freezer storage chests and bags filled with a wide variety of meat that is left over from last hunting season.
This is the first year Randy and Deidre Buller donated. Deidre says she saw the post on Facebook and this would be a good way to get rid of their stored meat.
“We have some deer sausage. We have some backstrap, some fish, some squirrel, rabbit, and just a variety. He’s a big hunter, so we have a lot of different things that we’ve accumulated that we haven’t gotten a chance to cook and we need to make some room in the freezer for this year’s harvest.”
This is the 25th year Sportsmen for the Hung
