KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - It was a night of celebration at the Kauffman Center in downtown Kansas City on Sunday night, as the Chiefs rolled out the red carpet for the premiere of ‘The Kingdom’ on ESPN.

In the very first episode of the docuseries, viewers get a history lesson on how team founder Lamar Hunt helped shape the NFL.

“Those are stories that we know really well, just having heard them directly from my dad,” Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt said on the red carpet. “I’m so glad that those stories are now getting shared with our fanbase.”

“What a great story. And he was a great guy. I had the chance to meet him first way back when I was a head coach in Philadelphia,” Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said. “Just a great human being.”
