WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) – A tee time was set for a special cause Sunday as dozens of golfers gathered at Gateway Golf Course in Waterloo for the annual Woody’s Toys Charity Golf Outing.
The event, organized by Paul “Woody” Woodward, brought the community together not just for a round of golf, but to raise money and collect toys for children and families in need.
For just $80, participants received green fees, a golf cart, lunch, raffle entries, and a chance at prizes. Each golfer also received a grand prize ticket, with plenty of fun games offered throughout the day.
But organizers say the biggest reward is knowing the event supports two vital organizations: The Stead Family Children’s Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House. Both located in Iowa City.
