SARASOTA, Fla. ( WWSB ) - Today will continue with the unsettled, rainy pattern. Rainfall will be heaviest in the first half of the day, but a few storms will be present in the later part of the day.

The cooler temperatures are offering some relief from the summer heat, and the recent rains have helped to ease drought conditions. But again today, some storms could have gusty winds and brief periods of heavy rain.

As we move into midweek, a new front will slide into the region while an upper-level system digs into the Southeast. This will briefly bring drier air, especially along the Nature Coast. We will get a taste of the drier air, and our rainfall chances will drop some, but we can still expect a smaller chance for showers each day.
