Protestors engaged in a 'stand off' in front of a city centre police station this afternoon, chanting "let her go!"

The incident saw dozens of locals gather outside St Leonard's Police Station on St Leonard's Street for several hours on Monday, August 25.

They claimed a pro-Palestine demonstrator was "summoned" to the police station by Police Scotland after receiving a letter to her home.

It is understood she received the letter following her involvement in a protest in late July.

Protestors held Palestinian flags and signs reading "It's not a crime to act against genocide" and "Ceasefire now".

They also chanted "Let her go! Let her go!" outside the front doors of the station.

Protestors told Edinburgh Live they were there to "support their comrade" and were "really concerned".
