GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — A historic announcement for a Gibson County Fire Department.

The Francisco Volunteer Fire Department says for the first time in their history, they are proud to introduce their "Cadet Program" which will launch in 2026.

We're told the program is designed to mentor, train, and inspire the next generation of firefighters.

Officials say the program will give young people a hands-on look into what it means to serve and protect the community.

The Department says they will provide more details at a later time.
