A group of online activists lured a Level III sex offender to Kingston on Thursday for what the man allegedly thought was a sexual encounter with a 13-year-old, but when he arrived the group called police who arrested him, authorities said.
David M. Baxter, 56, of Hanson, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Plymouth District Court on Friday to charges of enticing a child under 16, trafficking of person under 18 for sexual servitude, and attempt to commit a crime, records show.
He was ordered held pending a dangerousness hearing on Aug. 29, according to legal filings. His lawyer didn’t immediately return a request for comment.
A police report filed in court said a woman called police around 9:40 p.m. Thursday to report that a registered sex offender, allegedly identified as Baxter,
