Two people were hospitalized with serious injuries following a stabbing on a Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) streetcar Monday morning. The incident occurred near the intersection of College Street and Bathurst Street around 8:25 a.m.

Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly before 8:30 a.m. Paramedics transported a man and a woman, both in their thirties, to the hospital. Their injuries are serious but not life-threatening. A third individual was assessed at the scene but declined to be taken to the hospital.

Toronto police reported that a 42-year-old male suspect was arrested shortly after the incident. Authorities have not confirmed whether the victims and the suspect were acquainted.

Mandeep Lali, CEO of the TTC, stated that the stabbing took place on the 506 Carlton streetcar. He expressed concern over the incident, saying, "While the circumstances leading to this are under investigation, I share everyone's concerns when something like this happens on TTC property. We extend our thoughts to the victims and anyone who witnessed it."

Following the stabbing, a heavy police presence was established in the area as investigations continued.

In a separate incident reported shortly after, police responded to another stabbing at Wilson Avenue and Ancaster Road. A single victim was found with injuries and was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A suspect in that case was also taken into custody.
