HOUSTON — We recently sat down with a 13-year-old Pearland boy to hear about his exciting night with country superstar Jason Aldean.

Despite his own battle with cancer, DJ Daniel works to raise money for Heroes for Children, a non-profit that helps kids with cancer and their families. Earlier this year, he posted a video online and said, “Hey, does anybody know Jason Aldean? Because we’re trying to do a country show down here to raise money for kids with cancer."

"He put out a video for Jason Aldean, and we didn't think he was gonna answer, but he responded so fast!" Dad Theodis Daniel told KHOU 11.

Aldean and fellow country artist Darius Rucker promised to meet DJ and help with his mission. Last week, he made good on that promise.
