AMES, Iowa — Iowa State University Police Department confirmed there was no active shooter on campus today. Officers responded quickly to several calls, but no credible threat was found.
Chief Michael Newton emphasized the importance of safety for students and staff. "The safety of our students and staff is our top priority," Newton said.
The calls were similar to false "swatting calls" affecting universities nationwide. Police will continue to monitor the situation and treat all threats with seriousness.
