Nashville SC’s game against Orlando City SC over the weekend had the feel of a pivotal contest for the Boys in Gold.
NSC entered the game on a season-high, three-game losing streak. And a fourth consecutive loss might well have brought an end to the team’s hopes of winning the Supporters’ Shield, given to the MLS team with the best regular- season record.
A victory, on the other hand, would allow Nashville to keep pace in the chase for the Supporters’ Shield, as well as bolster NSC’s chances for home-field advantage in the first round of the MLS playoffs.
