PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- The Portland Fire announced their general manager on Monday, bringing in an international basketball business veteran to help bring together the team.

Early Monday morning, the Portland Fire shared that Vanja Černivec will be the team's general manager, overseeing basketball operations and leading the search for the team's head coach.

Černivec has a long history with basketball, including six years working for the National Basketball Association internationally, focusing on recruitment throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa for the NBA Academy Women's Program.

She also served two seasons as general manager for the London Lions women's team and the Global Director of Academy.
