MADISON (WKOW) — A 27-year-old woman was arrested over the weekend after trying to bite a police officer and hitting another, according to a Madison Police Department report .
Police responded to a fight in progress around 1:04 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of South Pinckney Street and East Main Street.
According to MPD spokesperson Korrie Rondorf, a woman identified as Shabrina James became combative when officers attempted to handcuff her. James tried to bite one officer and punched another, according to the report.
Officers used pepper spray and took her into custody. She was arrested for battery to a police officer, two counts of resisting arrest causing injury and disorderly conduct.
