MID-HUDSON – Five Mid-Hudson counties have been awarded $11 million for the state’s Youth Employment Program, which aims to help reduce community violence and youth criminal justice involvement by providing year-round employment and training opportunities to at-risk youths most impacted by gun violence.

The program, begun in 2024, plays a role in the state’s Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) initiative.

Grants for the Youth Employment Program include:

Dutchess County – $892,230

Orange County – $2.7 million

Rockland County – $2.8 million

Ulster County – $742,386

Westchester County – $3.9 million
