ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — One of the men hired by Solomon Peña to shoot up the homes of New Mexico democrats was released from custody last week. Jose Louise Trujillo took a plea deal, admitting that Peña paid him and his father, Demetrio Trujillo, to intimidate four elected officials.

Peña was angry that he lost an election for state representative. Jose Trujillo was sentenced to three years in federal custody in May, but with time served, he was released on Aug. 20. His father Demetrio was sentenced to 15 years.

Pena was recently sentenced to 80-years behind bars.
