SPRINGVILLE, Iowa — Emergency crews responded to a structure fire in the 100 block of Heather Lane today, where heavy smoke was seen coming from the garage. According to a report, Linn County Sheriff Deputies, Springville Fire, Mount Vernon Fire, Lisbon Fire, and Anamosa Ambulance were dispatched to the scene. Neighbors informed responders that the homeowner was away at work when the fire broke out. Thanks to the quick action by Springville Fire, most of the damage was contained to the garage. The residence sustained fire and smoke damage estimated at $150,000. Fortunately, no human injuries were reported.
