Police have issued tickets after two youths were caught street racing in Steinbach.
Steinbach RCMP say it happened Saturday at 1:50 am, along Highway 12 near Loewen Boulevard. As a result, two youths were charged with racing, which carries a fine of $672. One of the youths was handed a $862 ticket for speeding in a construction zone, while the other was ticketed $731. They were also fined $203 for failing to comply with their driver's license. Both vehicles were seized for seven days, and both drivers were issued with immediate roadside prohibition.
Meanwhile, over the weekend, Steinbach RCMP and Ste. Anne Police Service issued 15 provincial offence notices for speeding, disobeying traffic signs, and not abiding by driver's license restrictions. As well, there were some equipment infract
