FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) – A text alert was sent to Unviersity of Arkansas students Monday afternoon saying there was an active shooter reported. As of 1:48 p.m. local time, Nexstar's KNWA reports that police had not found any evidence of a shooter, but were still checking buildings on campus.

During a news conference, officials said that both campus and Fayetteville police received calls of a reported active shooter at 12:30 p.m. They said no evidence of a shooting has been found, and therefore no arrests has been made.

The university's alert advised everyone to avoid the area of Mullins Library, instructing people to "Avoid. Deny. Defend."
