DANVILLE, Pa. — It looks like a regular classroom atmosphere inside the Montour County Emergency Management Agency. However, it's far from it. This group of nine seniors from three school districts will be participating in the first-of-its-kind EMA co-op in order to get certified in various first responder roles.
The idea stemmed from the Danville High School's Fire Club.
"We really wanted to create an opportunity for them to get that training in the classroom, so we took that to the school district, and their suggestion was to create a co-op," said Eric Frantz, Danville High School Fire Club Advisor.
It's not just open to Danville Area School District seniors, but other school districts in the area. Frantz says the seniors will come to the co-op Monday to Friday during the school year
