PITTSTON, Pa. — A fire in Luzerne County left a home severely damaged.

Crews were called to the fire along Market Street in Pittston around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Pittston Fire Chief Frank Roman says two people, two dogs, and a cat were inside the home at the time, but all made it out okay.

The fire started in the basement and spread to the kitchen and bathroom, causing severe damage and leaving the two people, along with their pets, displaced. The Red Cross has been called to assist them, officials say.

The PSP Fire Marshal has been called to investigate the cause of the fire.
