ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A multiyear repair project is set to begin on the arterial roadways connecting Empire State Plaza to I-787, the New York State Office of General Services (OGS) announced on Monday. Lane diversions will begin in September.

The project will reportedly replace the roadway's expansion joints; mitigate water infiltration and restore the concrete, structural components and utility systems. According to OGS, the repairs come after several years of water infiltration damage and will improve the safety of the roadway.
