creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have felt the burning in the bosom and have decided to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In addition to the crass cartoon the pair is also known for their Tony Award-wining musical , an irreverent spoof on the history and teachings of the church.

“It really got us thinking,” said Parker, with his new Mormon wife and six children. “When we made that musical, we set out to lampoon Mormonism and its founder Joseph Smith, but after the constant haranguing of the twenty-year-old missionaries standing outside our theatre every night, we gave in and converted. It was the right thing to do.”
