EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- A disaster recovery center is now open in Del Cerro, New Mexico, in Doña Ana County, to assist those affected by the severe storms, flooding, and landslides that occurred June 23 - Aug. 5.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) began providing in-person assistance on Friday, Aug. 22, to help residents apply for federal aid, including grants and low-interest disaster loans, according to a news release by FEMA.
FEMA staff can assist individuals in other ways, including checking the status of existing applications and informing residents about additional resources available.
