LORAIN, Ohio (WJW) – A man who was wanted in a local murder is in custody.

According to the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, deputies served a murder warrant to Jomar Perez, 21.

Perez was wanted for the murder of Robert Willis, a 28-year-old man from North Ridgeville.

The sheriff’s office said Willis was found shot multiple times on July 29 near 1715 Meister Road in Lorain. He later died at the hospital.

Detectives linked Perez to the case early on and filed for search warrants, which led to the arrest. Perez will be arraigned this week on a charge of murder.

He’s being held in the Lorain County Jail. A press conference is planned Tuesday at the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office at 1 p.m.
