JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Northside community is on edge after a woman was stabbed to death on Peach Drive.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says just after 3 p.m. on Saturday, officers were called to the neighborhood in Jacksonville's Southside, where they found a woman in her 50s suffering from stab wounds outside a home. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Milton Brooks, who has lived in the neighborhood for more than 30 years, says the crime is unsettling.

“My main concern is just that they catch the people that done this, that's the main concern,” said Brooks.

He told First Coast News he was shocked to learn what happened just blocks from his home.

“I thought it was a shooting at first, but then I heard that it was a stabbing,” said Brooks.
