PHILADELPHIA (WCMH) -- Ohio State's starting quarterback from the 2023 season has been waived from his first NFL roster.
Multiple reports said that Kyle McCord has been released by the Philadelphia Eagles and won't make the final 53-man roster for the regular season. The former Buckeye played in all three of the team's preseason games, throwing for 181 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.
McCord could still feature on the Eagles' practice squad if no team claims him off the waivers, per reports.
The 22-year-old was drafted by the Eagles in the sixth round of April's NFL Draft after a record-setting final college season with Syracuse. McCord transferred to the Orange from Ohio State and led all Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) quarterbacks in passing yards with 4,779, a record
