LEAVENWORTH, Kan. —

A Leavenworth, Kansas, man has been convicted of sexual battery against a police officer in connection with an incident from December 2024.

Cleo Williams Jr., 44, pleaded no contest to the charge and was found guilty Aug. 22 in Leavenworth County District Court. Advertisement

The Leavenworth County Attorney's Office said that officers responded to an apartment complex on Dec. 14, 2024, on a reported domestic disturbance.

As Williams was being arrested, he reportedly kissed an officer's neck, which led to the charge.

"Our officers work hard, and we respect and appreciate the services they provide. However, any form of inappropriate physical contact, including kissing, is unacceptable," said Leavenworth County Attorney Todd Thompson in a news release.
