A farmer from the Ste. Anne area is hoping to get his combines rolling again tomorrow.
Brian Dueck of Seine River Seed Farm says harvest has been put on pause as a result of recent rain.
"We received a good two inches in the last little while," says Dueck. "For the soybeans and corn, it was good, but for our cereal harvest, it sure impeded that."
This year, Dueck is growing wheat, including winter wheat, as well as barley, oats, soybeans, and corn. He notes harvest started about 10 days ago, with their winter wheat, spring wheat, and barley producing average yields.
"I haven't heard of any bad yields, or any really good yields," he says. "It's very close to average."
