With NFL cutdown day looming on Tuesday, teams are in the process of reducing their rosters from the offseason 90 to the in-season 53.
Sometimes, that process can include trades, with a flurry of such roster moves occurring in the last several days. And the Steelers could be the next team to participate.
Per a report from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Pittsburgh has informed rookie kicker Ben Sauls that he will be waived before the cutdown deadline if the team can’t find a trade destination for him.
Sauls, a 2025 undrafted free agent, was brought in to back up Steelers All-Pro kicker Chris Boswell over the summer.
