BEAUMONT, Texas — A jury has sentenced a Beaumont man to 5 years probation and $10,000 fine after he pled guilty to fleeing the scene of a deadly 2021 crash faces sentencing as both side concluded their cases in the punishment phase of the trial on Wednesday.

Armando Olvera, 26, pleaded guilty Monday to accident involving injury or death in connection with the Dec. 22, 2021, crash on State Highway 124 near Craigen Rd that killed Jessica Robin.

Judge John Stevens had the option of adding 180 days up front time in jail. Judge stevens opted to do this, which means Olvera will be in jail for 180 days as part of his probation.
