SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Springfield Police Department (SPD) has released the names of the three people who died following a residential fire on Sunday, August 24.

According to an SPD press release, police and firefighters responded to 3307 West Lombard around 1:37 p.m. for a fire and located two adults and one juvenile inside with what appeared to be gunshot wounds in the home.

The SPD Homicide Unit investigated the incident and reported that Ryan Parnell, 40, shot and killed Jessica Parnell, 35, and Aaliyah Perkins, 13, inside the residence.

Ryan then set fire to the home and later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the release says.

The three individuals were reported to be residents of Springfield. The next of kin has been notified.
