PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Phoenix police are asking for tips after a man was stabbed to death last week just off the Interstate 17 corridor.

According to authorities, officers were called out to 27th and Northern avenues on reports of a stabbing around 3 a.m. on Thursday.

At the time, the 911 caller reported that the victim, later identified as 27-year-old Martin McKinney, had left the area but was spotted nearby, injured with a stab wound.

McKinney was taken to the hospital for injuries that investigators initially considered non-life-threatening, but police say his condition gradually worsened and he later died.
