PHOENIX (AZFamily) — It’s been a very hot August so far. In fact, it’s been so hot that we are currently tied in first place with 2020 for the hottest Augusts on record in Phoenix.

As you can see above, we have an average temperature of 99.8 degrees this month, as of August 24. However, we will likely fall out of the number one spot, as we have low 100s in the forecast for Monday and 90s in the forecast for Tuesday. It’s been over two years since we’ve had a day in the 90s in August.

The last time this happened was on August 21, 2023 when the high was only 91 degrees. We also picked up a little rain on that day with 0.04 inches recorded at Phoenix Sky Harbor.

After we likely get knocked out of the top spot for August heat over the next few days, we may rise back up again as temperature
